THE STORY OF JACOBSON’S ALUMNI ASSOCIATION
Jacobson’s Alumni Association was started by us, Madeline and Steve Flaster, after Jacobson’s closed its last wonderful store more than five years ago. Steve had worked for Jacobson’s and was besieged by women who wanted to know what they should do “now” to find nicer fashions. We responded by starting Jacobson’s Alumni Association as a private buying club and the name is registered and wholly owned by us. We formed associations with designers and manufacturers who previously supplied Jacobson’s and began holding private fashion events in the Lansing area. These events have expanded over the past five years to many other Michigan cities. We also have a continuing association with the Aretee Spa in Grosse Pointe Woods, where women can find a selection of the fashions all of the time. Perhaps most important of all, Jacobson’s Alumni Association combines community work with fashion and continues to do fund raising fashion shows and boutiques for important causes throughout the state. We welcome requests from women interesting in doing such events and invite women from sizes 4 to 22 who miss Jacobson’s style, quality and personal shopping experience to join us.
WHAT WE CAN DO FOR YOU
We believe that looking good is independent of age and size. Most of our customers do not get “carded” when they order a drink, but they have a smart youthful flair, appreciate good style, good quality, and good value. They want things that are a little bit different, have a bit of an edge and attitude, and are definitely wearable. If this description sounds like you, we can make it easy and fun for you to find the look you want. Since we care about your individuality, we do not offer large quantities of the same style and therefore will not be selling our clothes on this web site. Instead, we want to invite you to our events and keep you informed about what we are doing for women like you and what is happening in fashion. We can also arrange a personal shopping appointment in our Williamston home. We are definitely here for your personal requests and to help you project the look that says ”you” whether you are a size 4 or a size 22.
